Does my TV need to be digital ready? What does digital ready mean anyway?
A digital ready TV is one that can accept an RF (radio frequency) digital input signal
without the need for a set top box to convert it. While BT’s service is 100% digital, it uses IP (internet protocol)
instead of RF. Therefore, even if you own a digital ready television, you will still be required to use a set top box with BT’s service.
Will I need a set-top box for each TV?
Our service is all digital IP based. A set top box will be required
for each television you want service to. BT’s set top boxes are much, much smaller than set top boxes currently provided by Adelphia.
The program guide and channel info is missing. It was there, but now it’s gone.
There is an easy fix for this issue where you've lost the guide. Locate the small silver box with the
logo "Amino" on the side. Disconnect the power cord from that box. The power cord is located on the back of the box,
directly behind the "Dolby Digital" logo that is on the front. It is located on the end, directly next to the
ethernet cable (which looks like a phone cord). Disconnect the power, wait 10 seconds, then plug the cable back in.
It will take about 6 minutes or so for the box to come back up. In that time, if your TV is on, the screen will be blue and say "Please wait...loading
in progress". After about 6 minutes, you should have cable service back, and your guide should be working.
How come I can’t simply pick and choose the stations I want and not get all the other stuff?
The broadcast networks and other individual stations have a high level of control over how a cable company
packages its programming and through complex contracts they restrict the degree of freedom that a cable provider can provide their subscribers.
Burlington Telecom will use all the flexibility it can to get as close to a la carte service as possible, and that will provide
more choice and flexibility than you currently have. In addition the Federal Communications Commission has recently recommended a la carte
choice for consumers. Stay tuned...
Curently I subscribe to another Cable TV service and sometimes the picture gets broken
up into little blocks as I watch at night. Will this happen with Burlington Telecom service?
This is called tiling. There are many reasons why the picture with digital
cable tv service can "tile". The most common cause is a low signal level into your house. Low signal level is often
due to old or poor coaxial cabling inside or outside your premises. Because BT service is provided via fiber optic cable to your house, we do not
need to compress the video signals that we receive, thus greatly reducing the likelihood of "tiling". If you are experiencing this effect, it is likely due to a cable issue inside. Check your connections for faults.
My cable TV company told me that BT was going to rearrange to channel
line-up and my remote would no longer work. Is this true?
We will be offering a competitive channel lineup. It is inevitable that our lineup will not exactly match Comcast’s channel by channel. Because BT’s service requires a set top box, a new remote control will be provided to work with our box. However, in most cases this remote can be programmed to control your basic television functions. The technician who performs the installation work or one of our customer service representatives can assist you with this.
What is video-on demand?
Video on Demand is a service which allows you to select a program from a menu you would
like to view. Upon selecting the program it will begin playing immediately. You will be able to stop, pause,
fast forward and re-wind just like a VCR. Burlington Telecom will have hundreds of titles available for your pleasure. This service will

Can I get HD or DVR services?
HD (High Definition Television) and DVR (Digital Video Recorder) services are not yet available. We do plan on offering these great services by summer of 2008.
